Activities & Events
At Shadow Mountain Memory Care, we focus on discovering and providing the activities that are the most meaningful for each resident, every day. Keeping the mind and body active is an important part of a healthy lifestyle at any age; daily exercise and a variety of other fun group activities are provided for our residents to enjoy.
Because we know that nothing compares to the company of friends and family, we encourage residents to continue doing the things that they love with the people they love. At Shadow Mountain Memory Care, there is space to host events such as birthday parties, musical entertainment, and movie nights.
Each neighborhood is stocked with Life Enrichment Kits that will assist staff and visitors in spending quality time with residents—anywhere, and at any time. Our unique approach to life enrichment not only incorporates the efforts of our trained staff, but also encourages the involvement of our residents’ guests.

We're so excited for Curtis Cooper, our Life Enrichment Director extraordinaire! His web page is up and running, his newest book about Alzheimer’s is soon to be published, and he was recently interviewed by national radio host Ric Bratton (This Week in America).
Curtis's newest book WHY DOES GRAMPY FORGET MY NAME? teaches children and adult children about Alzheimer’s disease. As we follow GRAMPY’S journey, the reader will learn some interesting yet disturbing facts, and ways to cope and interact. As Life Enrichment Director at Waterhouse Ridge Memory Care, Curtis uses his expertise to present a difficult subject in a gentle and insightful manner that is not only educational for kids, but adults as well.
Curtis is donating all proceeds from the book to the Alzheimer’s Association. The softcover book is in the final stages of publication, and we'll keep you up to date on when it's available for ordering online. In the meantime, we hope you'll enjoy Ric Bratton's interview with Curtis.
